Hello All,

I have what I hope will be a simple, basic question for the group.

I have a working wired network with a Cable broadband connection. I would
like to hear from some of you about what I need, hardware wise, to add
wireless to this network. Is it possible to simply buy a single device, plug
it into an existing Ethernet port on my switch, add a wireless NIC and walk
away, laptop in hand, and still be connected?

I don't want to replace my existing wired router, if I don't have to.

Thank you for your time and effort.

Chuck

Suggest you use the D-Link DWL-900AP+ AirPlus Access
Point
An Access Point that gives 2.4GHz wirelessLAN users fast,
secure access to an IEEE 802.11b wireless Local Area
Network.

I plugged it into our existing router and had a working
wireless network in 5 min with shared broadband access.
Cost was approx £75 from www.cclcomputers.co.uk

hope this helps

You can buy a wireless access point and connect it to your
existing network. You will have to configure it to adapt
to your network but the devices have wizards to run you
through it.
