I had a computer crash,so i reinstalled and when i tried
to give it the same name it can not be added to the
domain. where all do i delete the computer name fromon
thre server.i got the pc on with a different name. but the
guy is hosting some kind of intranet data base and he
needs it to be the same name it was. thanks in advance

Delete the machine in AD Users and Computers and then wait for replication
to occur. Then either rename the machine to the desired name or disjoin and
rejoin using the correct name.

Open AD Users & Computers (either start/run dsa.msc or through
Programs/Administrative tools), expand the domain, and it should be in the
Computers folder by default. If not there, then they probably have created
OU's and it could have been moved into any of them, so you'll just have to
look (the OU's will be at the same level as Computers and will have a
"little folder" icon on the OU folder).
After it is deleted, let the deletion replicate to other dc's if any, before
renaming your box to that name.
