Hi,

I have a large BAR chart with about 30 variable on the Y-
Axis. I need a user friendly way to present the data
values.

I typically use the data table option but it seems to only
place itself down along the bottom of the chart. Does
anyone know a way to rotate the chart and list values
vertically along the Y-Axis?

Thanks!

A more flexible (though slightly longer) alternative to
data tables is to use the camera tool:

First step is to add the camera button to a
button bar (if its not there already..):
1) Right-click any existing button bar and select
Customize.
2) Switch to the Commands tab
3) Select Tools from the categories list
4) Drag the camera tool onto a button bar

Now use the tool:
1) Select the data table range on the worksheet
2) Click the camera button
3) Switch to the chart sheet and draw out a box for the
table.

The table produced is sizeable and will update when the
source range is changed. If you shrink the plot area for
the bar chart from the LHS, you can possition the table
adjacent to the category axis.

Cheers,
Dave

Excel doesn't offer very much flexibility in its data tables feature.
What you want to do is out of the question. But there are workarounds.

What I tell almost anyone is to embed their chart in a worksheet, and
use the cells around the chart to create your own data table. The cells
won't line up so nicely with the category axis labels, but you have much
more flexibility in formatting of the table, and in what you can include
and exclude.
