Hi - thanks for your responses regarding my problem. I managed to get it
working sort of using McGimpsey & Associates and the Worksheet Function
Accumulator (using Circular References) - I used this because I have loads
of cells to apply this to - I had to copy this down over 30 cells. It works
for the first cell but does weird things when entering data over the cells -
it isn't stable. I need a solution the will work over many cells - other
solutions seem to refer to single cells - any help would be very much
appreciated!!!

thanks again

First of all, you shouldn't have started a new thread - you've lost
all the suggestions to your earlier thread, and anyone reading this
now would not have a clue what you are talking about.

If you try Don's suggestion from earlier, his function defines the
range A1:A13 so that any entries in any of these cells (eg A5) will
accumulate on the corresponding cell in column B (i.e. B5). Perhaps
that is nearer to what you want.

Hope this helps.

sorry for bad protocol

OK - I have pasted in the function - do I need to do anything else - I have
saved and returned to the workbook - if I then input a figure in (eg) a5 -
nothing happens. Sorry if I am being basic here - but I am a bit lost!

To where did you paste Don's code?

It must be pasted into the sheet module.

Don instructed "Right-click on the sheet tab and "View Code" "

Paste in there.

Alt + q to return to the Excel window.

Enter a number in A5...also gets entered in B5

Enter a new number in A5.........B5 updates.

See one of your other threads to see where to place different types of code.

Also have a look at Ron de Bruin's site.

Well, I hope you've also learned not to go posting all over the place
- most contributors here read all the common Excel newsgroups.
