Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I need to add a user to our wireless network and cannot find the security password. I attempted to erase the network and start over, but cannot find where to do this. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks much!

Download WirelessKeyView from here:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_key.html
onto a PC that has the correct key and run it to discover the key you need.

That information is on the router. Log onto the router and go to the
Wireless page.

The default wifi key is usually on a sticker underneath or on the back of
the router as well.

None of the routers I see have this. Most retail routers in North America,
on initial power up or reset, are set to Wireless On, no encryption, and a
default SSID like "default" or "linksys".

You have to figure out what encryption scheme you want and apply it. Many,
not all, routers do have key generators

The only time I see a key required is when the wireless router is provided
by the ISP, and they force key generation as part of turning the wireless
on - by default they turn it OFF in firmware, and they have the firmware
adjusted to require key generation. But there is no default key.

go to a machine that is connected to the router, access the router, get the key, cut/paste it, save it as a .txt file, put it on a flash drive, transfer it to the new laptop, cut/paste it to the configuration window.
or write it down and type it in...
