hi word experts, I'm sure this has been covered before and I did do a
search BUT it was a bit too general a topic....

basically word 2002 when in the main body of a document typing away I
want to right click and have the thesaurus option in there along with
the cut paste font paragraph etc

Any ideas how I add to the right click menu ?

Hi Mike,

Tools>Customize>Toolbars>Shortcut Menus>Text>Text (expand the menu), then
shift to the Commands tab of the Customize dialog, located the command(s)
that you want and left-click and drag them onto the expanded text menu.

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.
Hope this helps

Assuming that 2002 is not too different from 2000 (which may be a
mistake on my part!), you should be able to access the Thesaurus by
clicking Synonyms at the bottom of the current context menu. Unless
the word is in a Table, in which case Shift+F7 - which works from
anywhere in the document - is the fastest route to the thesaurus.

When you click Synonyms, Word will present a pop-up list of the
entries in the thesaurus. (However, for some irritating reason this
does not work if you access the context menu via the keyboard! And I'm
not sure why ... but that's not your problem!)

You can still access the thesaurus, by clicking at the bottom of the
pop-up list.

If this does not work for you, I can only assume that Word 2002 is
quite different - and I wouldn't want to mislead you by providing
instructions for customizing which might also be different from those
that work for Word 2000. However, I'm sure one of the MVP's here will
provide some enlightenment.
