hi how do i add to allowed items i use peerguardian to block spyware servers.
wd blocks the driver on start up so the only way i can use pg is manually but
each time defender askes to permit or block theres no option to add to
allowed items & in allowed items there is no option to add.

Hi mickyfinn,

Check the Announcements NG for my answer, maybe in here, someone else can
conjure up something else to try.

Good luck

Newbie (to this newsgroup) alert!

Engel, I perused the Announcement NG and didn't see an obvious answer.

I just discovered these discussions and will continue reading . . .

OK, I give up.
I've spent the last 2 weeks in these WinDef groups and have not found a
satisfactory answer to MickyFinn's question for a routine operation:

" . . . each time defender asks to permit or block there's no option to add
to allowed items & in allowed items there is no option to add."

I've had to resort to disabling two notification selection boxes. This is
not acceptable.

So, what's the real scoop?

Do I have to join MicroSoft SpyNet ?

I'm using v1.1.1593.0 on Win XP SP2.

FYI for those still paying attention, it seems I finally got a clue from
microsoft.private.security.spyware.general .
