How do i add text to my video, and also how do i add a pure black screen for
a certain time?

Click on "Make titles or credits" to get to the screen to add text over your
video.
For a black screen simply create a black image in Microsoft paint or any
other paint program, save it as a BMP file and import that. Drag it to the
timeline and, in timeline view not storyboard view, you can drag the right
edge of it to make it as long or short as you want.

Tools / Titles and Credits?

I don't know about earlier versions
but if you go to...Help / About...what
does it say?

Running Win XP SP2, mine says:
Windows Movie Maker Version 2.1.4026.0

I apologise if I am not following the protocol for posting a question and
jumping into this one but I could not work out how to just create a new
posting.
I want to create a slide show in Movie Maker and burn it using Nero and I am
lost.
Is there a step by step process for adding titles to a slide show. I seem
to get as far as being able to add a title at the start and then get lost.
Is there a page in help that I could copy or a book in England that I could
buy?
