Adding still Picture

One of the puzzling issues for me is that when I add a still picture to a clip (or between two frames) in the storyboard I lose the audio. My intention is to add the picture while the original audio continues to play. Say for example, the person in the clip speaks about another person and I wish to add the picture of that person while the speaker continues to talk him. I have set the picture duration to 5 seconds. As of now, when the inserted picture is played, the original audio stops. Thanks for any help.

You are adding a still picture between two video clips - the picture has no
audio.

If you want to add it 'over' the audio, say in the middle of a long clip...
You need to split the video clip in two places (so it now looks like 3
clips)
In the timeline view - drag the middle video clip down to the audio track
Now drag the picture inbetween the other two clips on the video track and
trim it to the same length as the clip you put down in the audio track
