Adding sound to slide show

I am using Power Point 97. I have created a slide show
and would like music to play continuously while it is
viewed. I have the show set up to change slides on a
mouse click...................

I have tried everything and read everything. Once I click
to the second slide I lose the sound.

Please help - many thanks.
