adding sound clips

I have a music clip that starts playing on startup and
plays through about 50 slides. I am trying to add a
small (1 second) sound clip to a slide. When it gets to
that slide, the 1 sec clip plays and the main music
dissapears. Is there a way to ADD a clip within the
already playing clip? Thanks
 
This should be doable.

What version of PPT?

What file type is the background sound?

What file type is the clip?

What animation settings did you use on the clip?
