Adding programs to the start menu

Greg

I have set up a GP for some users with very limited
access to the computer. They mostly use IE so I have
that start when they login. I have removed all the
desktop icons, access to drives, etc. I would like to
add certain programs to the start menu though. Is it
possible to set up GP to place specified icons on the
start menu?

Thanks

This is not ordinarily possible with a Group Policy object. You could assign
a logon script which created the shortcuts, or create an MSI which does
this, and assign it as a software package per-user.

Thanks for the information. I figured as much. It seems
like this GP should have this functionality, but I will
take a look at your suggestions. My other option is just
to leave all the icons there and disable the programs we
do not want users to have access to.
