Adding Programs on Dual Hard Drive

I'm in a workplace where I basically have no control over changing the
computer I'm working with -- just a heads up! (In other words, I can't
upgrade anything, etc.)

There's limited space on the primary C: -- but it has a dual hard drive
(D:). This will probably sound pretty stupid, but can I load programs
on the D: as opposed to the C:? (The D: is huge and almost empty. It
would allow me to run more software, which I require for my work.)

I've got a dual hard drive at home, but there I basically use my C: for
programs/software and my D: for data. (I can't recall ever loading
programs/software to the D: at home.)

I'm in a bind and need help A.S.A.P. -- many thanks in advance!

There is nothing stopping you from installing programs on the other
drive... other than your supervisor or PHB's (or GPO/Policy
restrictions). When you install the software just chose the alternate
drive for the install location. The programs and Windows will run just
fine with the programs on the other drive.

Thanks, John -- you're a gem!

Exactly what I needed to know -- and a quick reply, too. (smile)

Appreciated.
