Hello,

I want to add the "TCP/IP" port type for local printers. In my installation
i miss the entry for that port.

Anyone an idea, how i can after-install the port-type?

Thanks and regards,

Steafn

Hi Stefan,

I think "Server Printing" will get you what you need. The component contains
tcpmon.dll (the file that handles the Standard TCP/IP Printing Port) and the
registry data for it...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\Standard
TCP/IP Port]
"Driver"="tcpmon.dll"

HTH,
Brad

Hello Brad,

thank you very much for your answer.

I copied the nescessary files from a Windows XP installation and added two
registry-keys described here:
http://www.celerityfm.com/answers/answer03.html

Now I can select Standard TCP/IP Port, but when I want to add a new printer,
I get the error-message, that the TCP-MIB-Library could not be found.

Have you any idea, what could be the problem?

Thanks and regards,

Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Are you working on your own device or is this a device from an OEM. (i.e.
are you working with the tools or a completed post-fba image)? If the image
is from someone else and you don' t have access to the SLX file it was built
from take a look in Target Designer at the "Server Printing" component. Make
sure all the binaries and registry data for that component are included on
your device.

HTH,
Brad

Hello Brad,

the image on the thin-client is from someone else (manufacturer) . At the
moment I only have an evaluation version of windows xpe. Windows XPe is also
very new to me. Perhaps can you give me a link to an introduction of windows
xpe? I would test gladly the "Server Printing" Componente on a virtual
Machine.

Thanks and regards,

Stefan
