Is there a way just to download power point (add it) to the basic office
2003
edition?

If you don't need to edit presentations, but only view them, you can
download the PowerPoint Viewer from the Microsoft website. If you need to
make and edit presentations you'll need the full version of PowerPoint.
There's no free download for that. You will have to buy the standalone
version at a computer shop.

Best regards,
Ute

To continue Ute's information. If you can get by with the Office 2007
version of PowerPoint, you can purchase the upgrade version of that
software. If you need the 2003 version of PowerPoint you must purchase the
full retail version, not an upgrade version (unless you have an older
version of Office to use as an upgrade qualifier) because it wasn't until
version 2007 that Microsoft allowed a same version upgrade. Prior to 2007
you could not do a same version upgrade (Word 2003 as a qualifier for PPT
2003.)

Amazon's price for 2007 upgrade is $81.00 with free shipping.
