Suddenly "News" disappeared from OL 2000's Menu Bar. I dragged it back where
I had it from Customize | Web | News. However, whenever I close OL and the
reopen it "News" has vanished and I have to repeat the process all over
again (or else I can't get here). Will someone please tell me how to "stick"
News in a way it will stay "stuck"? Thanks.

I've only seen this problem with Outlook 2003.
Are you sure you're using Outlook 2000?

Yes, I am.

Then you must have a corrupt outcmd.dat file. Close Outlook. Search for that
file. Rename it. Restart Outlook. You should be able to customize your
toolbar now.
Note: this remedy will not apply for users who are having this problem in
Outlook 2003.
