I have read all the support ideas and have successfully ripped apiece of
music from Windows Media Player and done all requested. It asks"do you wish
the file to play automatically etc etc" and I click "Yes" but when I click
play sound there is a deathly hush, even though i have the sound very high!
The piece of music is not protected.
Help!

If it came from a commercial CD and you ripped it with Windows Media Player,
its protected.

Is the music file a .wav extension? based on my experience, that is the only
type of file it will let you play... if it is, open it up on microsoft sound
recorder and increase the volume. When you do this, make sure that the play
cursor is at the beginning of the file. The quality will get progressively
worse as you increase the file volume. If you want a more advanced editor,
download audacity. search it on google.
