I would like to add a music sting to a slide transition
in my Power Point presentation. I'm trying to figure out
how to do it, and I don't think this is an option. Is it
possible to add music to a slide transition? If someone
knows how to do it, please let me know. Thank you so much
for your help! -SJV

PPT 2000 and earlier:
Slide Show--> Slide Transitions, bottom right - look for "Sound". Use the
drop down to go all the way to the bottom of the list and select "Other
Sound" - Brings up a browse window, find your sting and Voila! All set.

PPT 2002 and later:
Same process, but the drop down is half way down the transitions task pane
(under Modify Transition).

Necessary Word of Warning:
Be careful adding sounds to transitions. It is okay once or twice in a
presentation, but use it too much and it gets annoying. Just my two cents :)

In addition to Kathy's specific instructions, I just wanted to add that
only WAV files can be added to slide transitions.

In addition to Kathy's and Echo's thoughts, be aware that any WAV file used
for a transition sound will be embedded irrespective of its size - just in
case your PowerPoint file size balloons up.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint only provides the ability to associate *.WAV sounds with slide
transitions (through the Slide Transitions dialog or task pane <depending
on which version of PowerPoint you are using>).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that there should be
additional multimedia options for slide transitions (without having to
resort to workarounds, VBA or add-ins), don't forget to send your feedback
(in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
