Hi,

I know there is a way to add folders to the SAVE IN dialogue box when saving
a file, document etc. but I have forgotten how to do that. Can anyone
help?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I went on to the Microsoft site and found the following artice in reference
to my question. However, when I follow the instructions to the letter, the
ADD TO MY PLACES option is greyed out and not available. Any suggestions?

How to Add Items to the "My Places" Bar
To add an item to the My Places bar, follow these steps:
1.. On the File menu in any Office XP program, click Open.
2.. In the Open dialog box, select the item that you want to add in the
contents pane.

Example: In the Look in list, click My Documents. In the contents pane,
click My Pictures.
3.. Click Tools, and then click Add to "My Places".

NOTE: You can add up to 256 items to the My Places bar.

PS - I checked in Add/Remove Programs and I do already have Tweak UI
Powertoy for Windows XP installed. Does that help? How do I access it?

Its on the Start Menu in the Powertoys for Windows XP folder. Or you can just click Start, Run and enter TWEAKUI.EXE

Hi,

I went to Custom places and put in the exact path to the folders I wanted to
show, but nothing changed when I did a SAVE in the Save places. I also am
still not able to see the option in the Tools menu. I tried restarting my
PC after I made the changes, and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Are you in a corporate environment? Or a stand alone computer? This feature can be restricted in a corporate environment with a domain controller.

Hi,

Found it however, even though I put in the exact location - i.g,
C:\Documents and Settings\XX\My Documents\PERSONAL\ABC, that location still
doesn't show up on the places bar...even after a reset.

Something very odd is happening - I found the option in Tweak and made the
changes but they still do not show up when I try to go to save a Word,
Excel, photo etc. However, yesterday I went to save a downloaded PDF file
and the changes I made showed up on the Save Dialogue box. What do you make
of that? How can I get the change to show up for all saved items?
