Hi,

I recently installed Internet Information Server and am
trying to add a user called IUSR which I need for
Dreamweaver. How do I add a user to IIS? Originally I
went into my MS Access database that I am trying to
access through Dreamweaver and then add clicked on the
security tab and then clicked add. I then tried to type
in the user name (IUSR_cfm-webpc) but it did not
recognize this. Does anyone know how to add a user to
IIS?

Thanks,

Chuck

Go to the Control Panel, Admin Tools and click on Internet Information
Services.

Click on the Name of the PC... then on Websites. Since it's IIS5.1 there
should only be a single default website listed. Right click on it and
select Properties. In Authentication Methods, ensure Anonymous access is
checked... the user name should fill in automatically with IUSR_NAMEOFYOURPC

Check the box "Allow IIS to control password"

To check this User is actually present, go back one screen to the Admin
Tools and click on Computer Management. Click on Local Users and Groups,
then on Users. You should now see the IUSR_NAMEOFYOURPC listed as the
Internet Guest Account.
