Adding item to multiple contacts with one action

I have contacts in groups of 30 to 200; is there a way in one action to add
an information item (category, title, etc) to each contact without having to
go to each contact to make the change?

Display your contacts in the By Category view, select the contacts you want
to change, and drag the selection to the category you want them to have.
