Adding in a word

I have typed a document and just realized i omitted
something. However, when I try to add it in I find that
I'm writing over whats is already typed. So my question
is how do I add in the new text?

Press the Insert key to toggle from Overtype to Insert mode (or double-click
OVR on the Word status bar).
