Adding HD with data (no OS) to new XP comp

Hi
I'm fairly confident it would work, however best check. I have a new PC and I would like to remove my 60G slave HD from my old machine and install it into the new PC without losing the data. I was running Win98 on the old PC but the slave did not have the OS on it.
 
You aren't going to lose any data, if you don't format it (like, when
installing a new OS on it) or "drop it on the floor" :-).
