adding email account from foreign country

Your query is a little vague since Internet email addresses should be
accepted the same way no matter what country the user is in.
 
Ok. I'll try to be a little clearer, but I'm not a savy internet user. I
work for a company based in a foreign country. They have set me up with a
company email account with @companyname.com address. I access it through a
webpage that has "http://wm.263xmail.com" in its address. When I try to add
the email account to Outlook, it cannot find the server automatically. When I
try to manually enter server info I am choosing "HTTP" as the account type,
"other" for the service provider, and typing in "http://wm.263xmail.com" for
the server URL.

I have no idea if this is the right input for the server information.

You can't add that http account to your email. It must be a POP 3 or IMAP
account.

The only time a URL works as a mail server is for a service using either the
WebDAV, or DeltaSynch protocols (and even then, requires specific MS
clients). Both are proprietary to Microsoft, and the only non-MS mail
service I know of using either is Lycos Mail, in the U.K.; and they are only
using WebDAV. All other email services that allow client access are using
either POP3, or IMAP.

I guess my first question should have been "how do you know what type of
email account do you have (POP3, IMAP, HTTP, etc)?" As I mentioned
previously, at login the address bar has "http://wm.265xmail.com/etc...." ,
so I assumed it was a HTTP account. But I know my yahoo mail account does
not have "POP3" in the address bar at login, but it is a POP3 account. So
now I'm thinking my assumption is not right at all.
 
Your situation is an http email that doesn't have POP 3. Yahoo is another
story.
