Hello,

I have several .wmv videos inserted into my web site, and when a visitor
goes to view a video it doen't show anything until the vid is 100% downloaded
- this could be minutes and nobody is going to wait for my page to load as it
looks like nothing is happening. I havn't found a way to save the videos as
"progressive" (so they gradually plays as they load?).

Or is there any way to display a "progress bar" of the video loading so it
looks like something is happening until the video plays?

For an example please see my site @ www.dalzielcontrols.com/videos.html

I need to improve this somehow. Thanks for any expertise!

Have links to the videos, so people can choose which ones they want to
watch, or download them for viewing later?

Hi Graham,

I do have individual links to the files which are about 600-700kb each. I
have considered including separate direct-links so people can "save target
as..." which I believe is what you are suggesting?

Or possibly convert the files to Quicktime which definately shows the
download progress bar in the mini-viewer so people don't get impatient..

Microsoft definately needs to show something happening in theire miniviewer
until the file starts playing - it looks like "nothing is happening" for
minutes on end.

I'm no web master, but I'm sure if you search google for progress bar or
similar you'll find some code to insert in your page and show people there
is something loading. You were right in your assumption of what I meant. :)
