adding domain to win2000 computer

I am getting an error when I try to add a domain to a windows 2000 computer.
After asking me for a username, password and domain, it says that no mapping
between account names and security IDs was done. Can someone tell me how to
fix this. I would greatly appreciate it.

a) Make sure that you have no drives mapped on your Win2000 PC
when attempting to register it on the domain.
b) Use an account name / password that has administrative
privileges on the domain controller.
