adding dictionary to word, doesn't recognize

I've recently gotten an XP professional and use word all the time in my
business. I need a specialized dictionary and added it to word, can
see that it is actually in word, everything's checked correctly, no
language selected, etc. but when typing, word doesn't act as if it
recognizes the words.

Any suggestions?

You might try asking this question in a newsgroup dedicated to Word,
rather than one dedicated to Windows. You'll be much more likely to get
a useful response if you ask your question in the appropriate newsgroup.
