Adding Contact Info to Received E-mails

When I receive e-mails from someone that is already in my address book, I want to OL2003 to "look up" that e-mail address and add it to the "Contact" information on the e-mail. I'm currently doing this manually. And there does not seem to be a rule to apply.

The reason is that I store these e-mails for later reference and I sort them by Contact name. Originally, I did so by e-mail address but several have multiple e-mail addresses (home, work, etc). Hence the reason for using the contact name

Does anyone know of a method, script, third party utility, or prayer that might work. Or maybe my concept is wrong.

Thanks for the help.

did you take a look at using the Journal feature? it does not "turn on"
automatically - you must do it for each contact - but the beauty afterwards,
is that you can see all your activites (not just emails) related to ac
Contact.

I had considered that option but remember 2002 (I now use 2003), I remember my hand being slapped by Outlook 2003 because of the "activity" panel in the contacts. So I didn't look at it again. I may have to review that one more time. Thanks for the suggestion
