Adding an XP machine to a peer-to-peer 98 network

Mike

Added a XP machine to a 16-port ethernet hub with 3 HP
printers on it. They have jet direct cards or external
jet direct unit. Cannot get the new XP machine to print
to these printers although I do have it printing to a
Canon Imagerunner 2800 with no issues. any
help/suggestions would be most appreciated
 
Have you created "Standard TCP/IP Ports" for the JetDirect connected
printers?

You'll need to know the IP addresses of the JetDirects. For the Internal
JetDirects, you should be able to get that info from the printer's front
panel. For the External JetDirects, press the Test button to get a
configuration print from the JetDirect.

You can create the Standard TCP/IP Port using the Add Printer Wizard, or:

1. open Printers and Faxes
2. click File, Server Properties
3. select the Ports tab
4. click Add Port
5. select Standard TCP/IP Port
6. click New Port
