While adding additional components for Win 2000 Server
after selecting IIS Components to be added, the Windows
Components Wizard goes through the Configuring Components
Process. While the wizard is going through this process
it starts copying files and when about 80% through it
comes up with the following error message.

"Setup could not copy one or more files. The specific
error code is 0x5. Press OK to continue or Cancel to stop
setup and try again. If you continue the components may
not function properly."

I am running Win 2000 Server Service Pack 4, one hard
drive with 3 partitions (2 NTFS-one of them the root- and
one very small FAT).

Any ideas on how I can solve th eprobelm or safely bypass
it. (If I continue [by selecting OK] after the error
message the components do not function properly)

Try this solution -

1) you have to take a backup of the
directory "Inetpub" which sits in your C:\ and then
delete the directory or rename it. May have problems to
do this as some files will be in use. I used Cygwin to
delete this folder. it should also be possible from DOS.
2) Un-install IIS
3) Re-install IIS, then it installs properly
