Adding a video capture device

I've fallen at the first, I have a Sony Handycam (CCD-TRV4BE / PAL / Video 8).
How do I add this to the list of video capture adices?
I really am new to all this !!

Your specific cam only has the analog outputs.
So it is a question of the hardware configuration of your PC
and it's capture facilities.
You require a capture card to be installed, and an efficient
PC for the chore of analog capture and digitizing. if not you
can opt for a standalone PVR unit to capture the anolog signal
convert it and pass via USB2 to the PC.
