Hi,

Is there an easy, idiot proof, way of adding a site to the trusted
sites list. I basically don't want to have the users to have to go
through the successive screens.

The users are not all using XP, some are still using win2K.

What I was hoping for basically is some kind of a "script" I could run
on the client (either a batch or a javascript).

Most users would not have admin rights on their workstation.

Thanks
Yannick

Set them on one machine, then open Regedit and export the relevant
Registry key to create a .reg file to use on other machines.
You should find them under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\ZoneMap\Domains

How about an addition to the Tools menu? Add to Trusted zone (Alt-T,u)

I have this in IE7b1 and I can't remember if I added it myself or not. ; o

In any case, it was originally available in one of the IE5 add-on packages
and probably still works the same way...

.... (this was starting to sound familiar)...

Which OS? Check your Tools menu?
(I see "Add to trusted zone" there in XPsp2. E.g. press Alt-T,u)

I think these used to be scripts added by IE5 Power Tweaks
but I can't find a Microsoft reference for them any more:

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/restricted.htm

Section: Add new Menu Items to Internet Explorer

(MSN search for
"Add to trusted zone" "Add to restricted zone"
)

Hmm... it looks like that's where graburl.htm comes from
so I guess I installed it in this XPsp2 partition
but don't remember doing that. ; }

Robert,

It may be a bit late at night for me and I may be missing something
but my MS reference is unchanged for the last 4 years.
