I have had a request to make an entry that will redirect any http request
*.mydomain.com, to www.mydomain.com

I have the www and null entry working fine, but the any.mydomain.com request
returns The page cannot be displayed.

DNS is on a W2K Server with AD.

Any suggestions will be welcome.

Thanks! :)

It is HIGHLY not recommended to use wildcard records in an Active Directory
domain.
Using wildcard records in an AD domain will almost guarantee you will have
replication issues. That is why they make it so hard to add wildcard records
in the GUI.
If the zone you are adding it to is not for the Active Directory domain, it
should not be an issue. Here is how you do it, in the forward lookup zone
for the domain, right click select new domain, name the domain * , then in
that sub domain add a blank host with the IP address you want the wildcard
to point to.
