I am trying to add a printer on a local machine to our SQL server.
The SQL server is not on the domain so I am having some problems.
Here is what I've done so far.
1. Added a HP 1200 Laserjet locally to a Win 2000 machine. Shared
the printer on the network to add it to other PCs on the domain.
2. Tried adding the printer to the SQL server running Win 2000 server
edition. Tried adding a printer method but it did not work obviously
since it is not on the domain so I went to Network Neighborhood and
connected to that PC and connected to shared printer which added it to
the installed printers but I was unable to print or manage the printer
(ie print test page).
3. Tried adding the user account from the SQL server to the security
access on the Win 2000 machine to no luck.
I am pretty sure what I am trying to do can be done I am just not sure
of how to specifically. Can someone please help me out?
