Is it possible to just add a printer driver (not a printer) to windows 2000.
I have one of the users in the office who has been given a HP Laserjet 3200
printer. The printer is at her home & is attached by USB.
We have no USB printers in the office, so I can't even add the printer &
change the driver.
The user has power user rights, so she should be able to add the printer. Is
it possible for Windows 2000 to pick the driver up automatically when the
printer is plugged in.

Thanks,

Matt

I'm not sure I clearly understand your delemma; however, you can try the
following to add a printer driver without physically attaching a printer:

Start>Settings>Printers>Add Printer

Click Next at the Printer Wizard screen. Choose local printer, but deselect
"automatically detect and install my Plug-N-Play printers. Now choose a
port and select a driver. Hope this helps.
