Adding a new domain

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to add a new domain under the
management of a unique domain controller.

For example, at the moment I have myserver.com as a first domain and I would
like to have myserver2.com. I thougt it was possible but when I go to
dcpromo, the only thing I can do is removing the domain controller or
something like that.

Any idea of what I have to do ?

Thanks

It is a little unclear as to what you are trying to accomplish. Are you
trying to promote an new domain controller to the new domain of
myserver2.com or are you trying to add the original domain controller to an
additional domain (i.e. make it a domain controller for mydomain.com and
mydomsin2.com)? If it is the later of the two, it is not possible. A domain
controller can only be a member of one domain.

You can however set up an additional domain controller and make it the
first DC of a child domain or trusting tree in the same forest. I hope this
information helps you.

It is the later which is not possible to accomplish as you told me.
To follow you, how do I create a new domain controller on the same machine,
because the dcpromo pg only gives the option for removal.
As you might have guessed I am pretty new to this field...

Tx a lot

You would first have to run DCPROMO and remove it from being a domain
controller in its current domain and then run DCPROMO again and this will
allow you to promote it as a domain controller in a new domain.
