I have 1 database already up and running with 5 people in the user group. I
have been asked to create another database for a different group of users.
When building the database I needed to log onto it even though I hadn't set
it up as a secured database. When I run the security wizard will the
existing group have access to this database and will the new group have
access to the existing database? If so how do I go about fixing this?

Since you want to secure your new mdb using a different workgroup, you
should have rejoined the standard system.mdw before creating it (then you
wouldn't have had to login).

Go to Tools, Security, Workgroup Administrator and click on Join. Browse to
system.mdw (the workgroup that ships with Access). You may want to search
for it first, to get it's location.

Close Access. Reopen it and create a new mdb. Import all objects from your
'2nd' database. This new database is unsecured, and all objects are now
owned by Admin.

You can now proceed to secure it. You'll create a separate mdw and secure
it with that. The users in your first secured mdw are separate from the
users in this second mdw.
