Is there a way to force a 2-second pause between songs in Windows
Media Player 9? I'm recording into a MD recorder, and I want to have
the pause so it will automatically mark the tracks

Any ideas?

Use real software such as Nero, or try the Nero Fast-Burning plug-in for WMP.

I'm not trying to burn. I'm plugging the output of my soundcard into
my MiniDisc recorder. If there is a 2 second pause between songs as it
plays back, it will mark the tracks automatically.

Any ideas for that?

OK, now I understand. J. River Media Center allows gaps up to 6.0 seconds, in
0.1 second intervals. http://www.jrmediacenter.com/

Make a short silent file and insert it into the playlist after each
song.

I also have a MD player, you will not get the automatic track changer using an analog connection, only a digital connection will do that for you.connect your dvd or cd player if it has a digital output to your MD, then you'll have the track changes.
