I have a 2000 server I need to add back into my domain. I had just got it
setup in my domain and it crashed (think it was a corrupt registry). Anyway,
I need to add it back into the domain with the same server as before. It
there something at the command prompt I need to run before trying to add it
back as a domain controller with the same name as before?

If you are just adding a Server (non-DC) back into the domain then you
should first try "resetting" the computer account in AD Users/Computers
or by using one of the Command line tools, like DSMod, NetDom, or
NLTest.

As a domain controller that has been re-installed? You need to run
DCPromo --
if it lets you (after you get DNS right) then good; if not you may have to
first cleanup the older version of the DC with NTDSUtil Metadata cleanup
(my experience is that this is NOT necessary if you use the same name.)

Google: [ NTDSUtil "Metadata cleanup" DC | Domain ]
