For about a week now [I've used Vista since it came out], I've been trying to
experiment with the other user stuff on recommendations built into Vista.
1 tried to create a standard user as Vista recommends. I have it up and
running, but I can't play the TV. So that user account is useless to me.
many other programs failed to run. specifically 'what's running.exe'. Many
other programs are unstable if they run at all.
2 I turned the guest account on.
I waited and watched as Vista failed to switch to the guest account. It asked
me many times to identify what program to run *.exe, *.dll during it's setup of
the desktop.
It finally settled with a basic grayed out desktop that had less going for it
than my win98 desktop. In addition, nothing ran on it. none of the desktop
icons were anything more than a generic icon, with text. And none worked.
IOW admin is the ONLY mode that works on my Vista HP with 2 gigs ram and dual
core cpu.
And it's supposed to work with 512 megs ram.
