Addind a server from 1 domain to another

Hi

I want to add a server we are getting to our existing network. It used to be
on another domain.

Would i be right doing the following;

1. Load server up locally (not on our network)
2. Run dcpromo to revert it from a DC to a standard server
3. Remove it from the old domain by putting it into a workgroup
4. Then add it to our network from the workgroup as a standard server.

Any help would be great
