I'm not able to get the "Advanced Filter/Sort" option under "Records/Filter"
in the table maintenance window to work. I choose it, and it puts me in the
query builder, and I enter my criteria, but when I came back out and click
"Apply Filter" nothing happens. When I go back in to "Advanced Filter/Sort"
the criteria I had entered aren't there. All I want is a quick ad-hoc way
to sort a table by multiple columns.

I'm guessing the answer will seem really simple when I finally find it.
"HELP" hasn't been of any help. I'd also appreciate knowing how I might
have found this answer there.

If all you want to do is to sort by multiple columns, the fast way to do
that is to drag the columns into the order that you want to sort (ex if you
want to sort by company name, then by invoice number, and then by date line
them up in that order. You can do that just by putting your cursor on the
field name, click once, and when your cursor turns to an arrow move the
column to the position you want it.) Then highlight all three columns and
click the a to z button on your tool bar.

Great. That certainly solves my primary problem.
But.... Can anyone tell me how "Advanced Filter/Sort" works? Now that I got
into, it like to understand it.

My answer to you seems to be missing, so I will try again. When you enter
the advanced filter sort you will get a grid that looks like a query grid
(it is actually a query grid). Enter your criteria and sort pattern into
the grid, then click the icon on the tool bar which looks like a funnel.

Thanks!
All questions ansered.
So I can continue in Access instead of exporting to Excel :-)
