Added Memory; lost mouse???

BRB

Need help. Had 256meg and added another 256, consequently continue to
experience hanging mouse pointer. On Events register only suspect is SRC:
i8042prt Event 18... What does this indicate, if anything?

Sounds like your new memory is suspect. Run the freeware
memtest86 memory diagnostic from a boot floppy/CD on it
for a few hours:

Thanks for the help but the memory had no errors on the test. After looking
over the error sheets it appeared that the mouse was losing contact with
the applications so I thought that it may be a driver problem and looked up
the old floppy for the MS Wheel mouse and replaced the 2000 drivers (Over
the protest of the system to the effect that I would incur problems with not
only the mouse but the keyboard as well) ... Well - It didn't happen. I have
had no errors since. Thanks for your help for I will save the little memory
test disk for it does a superb job.
