Robert, I have the same problem as myriad other users seem to be having...
and your link to chicago tech gets me a 404 - Not found
Existing network used over five years... laptops, desktops, XP, Win95,
Apple, wired and wireless... all worked together just fine - shared files,
shared printers...
Then I added a new PC with Vista Home Premium. It is now my "main" computer
with printers attached to it via USB. Other computers can "see" this
computer, but can't connect to its (shared) folders or its (shared) printer.
Then this afternoon, while using the Vista I retrieved a file from an XP
machine. did some work on it, then proceeded to save it back tot he XP and it
said I didni't have permissions.
What do we gain with all this improved security if we can't access the files
ourselves?
