Tom

i was wondering if there is a way to add an item, such as
a folder, to the right panel of the start menu in windows
xp. i want to add 2 folders to the area which includes
the documents, my computer, my mucic, etc... folders such
that they will function similarly to those links in the
menu. is this possible and if so, how?

Hi Tom,

Not really, you can replace two with your own (will expand) and can add a
folder under run (won't expand) and/or to the right click, but not add more.

Replace My Pictures or My Music (Line 2)

Add a Folder to the Start Button - Right Click (Line 124)

Add a Folder Under the Run Command (Line 180)

You can customize this area somewhat, but can't put just
any folder there. Put your cursor on the Task Bar (or
Start button), right-click, select Properties, select
Customize beside Start menu. This panel is what controls
items shown on the Start Menu - good luck!
