"Add to favorites" icon with picture not displayed

When I visit a Site and add it to my favorites, the icon
picture of the Site does not appear! It used to appear
automatically, but I must have done something wrong.
Can someone tell me how to make it display the picture
icons automatically when I add the web sites to my
favorites?

Known as a "favicon"...........
When you empty the Temporary Internet Files
folder the "favicon" is cleared (see below).
If your TIF size is small (1-5mb) then over time
the favicon will be kicked out in favor of new one(s).

Favicons are not a Microsoft created device.

Patrick Philippot, the author of FavOrg,
is a developer based in Draveil, France.

Find one of these FREE programs:
FAVORG or FAVICONIZER
These will save the icons in a different folder and fixes
your favorites with the favicon icons.

Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is
closed.

The hands-on method:
Favicons are in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Search the TIF folder
periodically for *.ico Copy any icons you want to save to another folder,
they'll be saved
then, even after newer files would have pushed them out of the TIF folder.

Right-click the internet shortcut> properties> change icon, browse to the
icon you want.

Favorg is good, but it's no longer free.

FavIconizer from
http://www.codeproject.com/tools/faviconizer.asp?target=favicons will save
favicons for you. It's a good program and it's free. I found registration at
http://www.codeproject.com/ to be a bit of a pain, but I've been through
worse ;-)

Empty the temp internet files folder.
