Go to Control Panel/Add&remove
this will list all of the programs installed.
If you Printer driver is listed.............maybe try a reinstall

XP components were installed along with XP and therefore do not show up
under Control Panel/add&remove.
Other than that components can have multiple meanings....are you looking for
installed hardware or software??
hardware is listed under Device Manager....right click the MyComputer icon
and then properties...any device not functioning will be marked

On that note what in particular are you trying to find???...give us the name
of the hardware/software
Also the specs/name of your system

If I understand you correctly, you are looking in Add/Remove Programs
for Windows components. The correct place is to take a look at the left
panel of the Add/Remove programs and click the icon for Add/Remove
Windows Components. When the box populates you will see checkboxes in
front of all the components you have (or have not) installed. Is this
what you mean?

that is the place im talking about what i need to know how can you find out
what of those things are loaded and what ones are not loaded

If the checkbox is checked, then you have it available for your system,
if not checked then it isn't available for your system. Bring up
Program Manager (Ctl-Alt_Del) and check and see which ones (if any) are
running. I think you may be confusing the word "loaded" with "running".
If you mean "loaded" in the sense that it is able to be located in the
Start > Programs menu, then yes they are "loaded".
