add/remove programs

Has anyone any idea at all about the nature of this
message?
"an unexpected error has occured. Class not registered.
res://appwiz.cpl/listbox.htc Line 225"
This message came up this morning while i tried to remove
a program in the ADD/REMOVE programs at the control panel.
My PC's O.S. is MS WIN 2000 Built 5.0, service pack 4
