I'm running Windows Xp on new PC system and find that
when I open Add or Remove Programs and view Currently
Installed Programs that only a few programs are shown,
with a great space before next entries. At first I
thought there were no more programs listed, but happened
to scroll all the way to bottom and found the remaining
programs. If I close this utility and then reopen, all
the programs are shown normally. Rebooting and starting
over has same results, i.e., first time open, problem,
subsequent opens, all okay.

Any ideas?

Hi Roy,

If it the list is stopping in the A's and you have AutoCad installed, run
the edit on line 226 - Right hand side
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

If this is not the case, remove the last program listed from here or change
the DefaultIcon value to a non-negative number.

Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Thanks Kelly for reply. Yes, I get a large white space
after the Autocad listing. Since I'm only vaguely
familiar with regedit, I'm a bit confused on the
corrective action. You advise to run edit on line 226.
Could you please explain in greater detail what this
consists of? I navigated to
hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversi
on\windows but got lost regarding line 226.

Also, I see others having same type of problem with
Uninstall. Is MS coming out with a fix?

Run the edit, Roy it will correct it for you. And this is not an MS issue,
it has to do with the programs in mention.
