Ive a problem with the name of an application as listed in add/remove
programs. The space assigned to its name is huge and takes up many many
pages of the list box. If you didnt know any better you'd think there were
no more pieces of software listed after it.
Where does this applet read the installed applications from and is it
possible to edit the viewable title?

thanks

Hi,

Look under this key in the registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Thanks for that Rick. Didn't find anything obviously awry there. Nevermind
;o(

Hi,

Did you look at the subkeys with the program name or the ID number? You
should look in the latter ones.

The uninstall entry itself is under a guid style key. Ive selected every
subkey and checked its data. I hoped there was some huge piece of text in
the "display name" data - but afaik a registry entry can only be a maximum
size of 255 chars anyway right?
I'm now wondering if it's a bug or something. The gap follows on after
Microsofts option buttons rather than after the title itself.
